Do you know "KUSO" this word?
你知道"KUSO"這個詞語嗎？
"KUSO" actually means "crap" or "shit" in Japanese. But it becomes internet phenomenon after the Taiwanese discover this word. And they called it "e' gao"(惡搞) which means criticize or make a dig at something through humorous ways.
其實「惡搞」在日文中是指「廢物」或是「糞便」，但當傳入台灣之後則變成了網絡文化。他們稱之為惡搞，即指透過幽默的手法去諷刺、批評某些東西、事情。

However, this kind of "kuso" pictures do not have bilingual elements. So I am going to give you some example which is "kuso" and bilingual.
但是，這種「惡搞」的圖片並沒有任何的雙語元素。所以我將會給予一些既有「惡搞」也有「雙語」元素的例子。
This two posters are designed and posted by a Tokyo Railway company to introduce and remind passengers that the etiquette they should have in the train. Although most of the passengers are Japanese, the company did not neglect the foreigners, also translated the sentence into English.
這兩幅海報是由東京一間鐵路公司所設計和推出的，用意是為了介紹及提醒乘容在地鐵中應有的禮儀。雖然大部分的乘客都是日本人，但是他們也有把提醒字句翻譯成英文，讓外國乘客也知道地鐵應有的禮儀。
Furthermore, Japan is known as the state of ceremony. They tend to care about the etiquette. I think the reason of designing these poster is to assimilate the foreigners, use easy language to let them know the how etiquette is important in Japan. So I think it also included "Domestication"(同化) bilingual element.
此外，日本也是個東方禮儀之邦。他們都十分著重禮儀。我認為他們設計的其中一個原因也是希望可以透過簡單，他們理解的語言同化外國乘客，一同注著禮儀。所以我也認為這也包含同化的雙語元素。

Except "kuso" picture, there are also have "kuso" videos! Do you know about "The legend of Zhen Huan"? It is a famous TV series which was broadcast in 2011. At first it was only broadcast in Mainland China, but it started to broadcast in America in 2014. The interesting thing is the episodes of " The legend of Zhen Huan" were concentrated into 6 from 72 in total. To criticize this TV series, some of Chinese did something funny. Let's watch it!
除了有「惡搞」的圖片之外，網上還有「惡搞」片段！你知道《甄繯傳》嗎？這是一套曾在2011年播出的有名電視劇，起初這只在中國大陸地方播放，後來太受歡迎，就決定在美國播放《甄繯傳》。但是好笑的是，原來有76集的《甄繯傳》，給濃縮成只有6集的《甄繯傳》！人們為了批評，就弄了些有趣的東西！立即觀賞！

In this funny video, what bilingual element you can find?
1.Transliteration
In about 2:43, a girl mentioned her name - "Cao so expensive" is more western style and noble than the other girl called Flower fly. These two names are both transliterated. "Cao" this word is equal to 曹 ( one of the last name). And "flower" is equal to "花" and the pronunciation of "花" is similar to " 華" in Putonghua. So it included transliteration bilingual elements.

If you pay attention on their dialogue (actually it is obvious), you can discover that their dialogue included both Chinese and English because the voice actors mixed these two language into one sentence and translate some of the words directly to satirize their English ability. For example there is a sentence "stay always // 在宛嬪身邊還有不少戲份 " said by a woman in about 2:56. In fact, the original sentence is "經常留在宛嬪身邊還有不少戲份" ( if we keep staying with a concubine, maybe I can get more parts in the TV series!) So it included Translation bilingual element too.
Moreover, their name are also translated into different strange name. Such as...
The English name are all translated and re-written from the Chinese meaning...So it is extremely strange and funny if you understand it!

I just can't help laughing on the English names of the actresses of《甄繯傳》. I think translation really plays an important role in spreading the culture of one country to the other!!
